In Montgomery County, when you can’t get to the library, the library comes to you. Whether it’s through our bookmobiles or by mail, we make sure that our residents have easy access to library materials.
This fleet of four mobile libraries serves a variety of audiences. Two of the bookmobiles are general libraries on wheels, visiting areas of the county where there is no local library. Our “Books Go Round” bookmobile provides story times and books to groups of preschool children on a bi-monthly basis. “Words on Wheels” is a handicapped-accessible bookmobile that pays bi-monthly visits to older adult clusters, including retirement communities and supervised living facilities in the county. “Words on Wheels” carries large print books, talking books and a collection of standard library materials.
