Sewn in America

June 4 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Discover how sewing shaped American life before ready-to-wear fashion. Based on the DAR Museum’s 2024 exhibition, this program examines the way in which American women (and men) from the 18th and 19th centuries learned and deployed their sewing skills to furnish their households, earn livings, and express themselves, with contemporary examples of the themes explored.

Presented by Liz Bauer, a volunteer docent of the DAR Museum in Washington, D.C.

Registration opens Thursday, May 14
