Ladies of the Street

March 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Intended for Adults

In celebration of Philadelphia’s Semiquincentennial (250th) anniversary, local author and lecturer Tom Keels will share his knowledge of the women who saved the 1926 World’s Fair. The Sesqui Women’s Committee was responsible for bringing the history of Philadelphia and America to life in 1926 during the Exposition. Defying corruption in the Republican Organization, they pioneered such concepts as living historians, house museums, and historic preservation.
