DESCRIPTION:In honor of America’s 250th birthday\, we will be hosting Rogers Smith\, Professor Emeritus of Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Smith will be speaking about the Declaration of Independence and how it revealed the ideals and (often conflicting) values and interests of the American revolutionaries. The lecture will be highlighting the tensions surrounding the Declaration and also cover the many roles that it has played in American History. \nRegistration is requested.
